  Just walk into an compass bank and you can't help but notice the pre-school like decorations and promotional materials. This should have been a huge sign to me to run from this bank, but I bought into the free checks and free ATMs. BIG MISTAKE!! I had nothing but problems with them from day one. Let's say for example at the beginning of the day I had $100.00 in my account. Then i deposited $100.00 more in cash (before the cut off time) thus bringing my balance to $200.00, then I go to the mall and spend $150.00. The next moring when I would check my account balance I would be NEGATIVE! They process your debits before your credits so your account is more likely to go in the red. This bank is managed by thieves who use their "free checking" to lure people in and then hit them with UNDESERVED overdraft fees.This has happened not only to me, but to EVERY SINGLE PERSON I KNOW THAT HAS EVER USED COMPASS BANK!! I would LOVE for an executive from Compass bank to call me so I could give him or her a piece of my mind. Bottom line.... Compass Bank is the WORST bank I have ever used! If you are smart you will steer clear.
